USHER BOARD MINISTRY
Name of Ministry Leader: Sister Marie Menefee-Campbell
Description of Ministry:
Ushers are Spiritual Hosts and Hostesses of the Church. They receive the order of the day from the Pastor. They see that the Church is in proper condition to receive members and guests. Also, they make certain that required worship service items are distributed to the congregation as needed. Ushers establish the tone of worshippers as they enter the Church—lending spiritual dignity to the whole service. Ushers are to possess the ability to make members and visitors feel comfortable. As such, they welcome, seat, and assist worshippers with special needs. They respond to questions, assist with emergencies, collect offering, and direct individuals to restrooms and children’s church.
To develop a ministry that provides ushers services for First Mount Olive worship services, special events and local churches’ annual days.
The mission of the Ushers is to be doorkeepers of the Church. “For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalms 84:10 KJV).
